Hi! Thanks for taking a look around my site. I’m a Junior majoring in journalism and double minoring in web development and graphic design at the University of Southern California. I have a strong passion for helping people communicate their ideas and love anything tech. I’m particularly interested in exploring how tech can change how we consume media and information.

Besides my interests in technology, I also do a lot of photography. I’ve documented all sorts of events, from football games in the Los Angeles Coliseum to protests in the wake of the Ferguson situation.

In the future, I hope to join a data visualization team where I can harness my skills in communication, design and web development to help better society.

When I get rare bits of free time, I’ll usually reading up on the latest tech gadget at a local tea and coffee shop or riding my bike around Los Angeles and taking in the sights.

Need a documentary filmed, event photographed or article written about your company? I got you covered. My photography has been featured in publications like NBC LA , The Daily Beast and has won awards from the Los Angeles Press Club. I also currently work as a photographer/videographer at the Annenberg School, where I document Annenberg events and film/edit videos to help keep students, staff and prospective students up to date on what the school has been up to.

As a journalist, I’ve written dozens of articles about a variety of topics, such as explaining the shortcomings of Los Angeles' Metro system or profiling Peter Marx, the new Chief Technology Innovation Officer for Los Angeles. I also write about urban development and public transportation for DTLA Rising, one of the most popular blogs about Downtown Los Angeles.

During my marketing internship at Cloud Raxak, I helped craft white papers explaining company offerings and technical specifications for stakeholders and potential customers.

I’m familiar with all sorts of media production technologies, such as Photoshop, Lightroom, Premiere Pro, InDesign and Illustrator.

Besides journalism, I’m also currently pursuing a minor in Communication Design. I’ve worked with paper cutting, gouache, Illustrator, InDesign, Photoshop and wire framing. At Cloud Raxak, I helped design graphics and logos that were used throughout the website and on technical documents. I have an affinity for minimalism and love taking a look at the latest designs for tech gadgets, whether it’s the new iMac or latest Galaxy smartphone.

As part of the minor (and out of my own personal interest), I’ve also studied advertising, marketing and UX/UI so I can get a better understanding of what makes for compelling media and design.

Here are a examples of design work that I’ve done so far.

I’m familiar with a variety of languages, including HTML, CSS, JavaScript, Query, AngularJS, Node.JS, JSON/JSONP, PHP, SQL, C++, Python, and Java. While my main focus is web development, I’ve also taken a few courses on network security/infrastructure and data management.

I’ve worked in agile environments in previous internships as well as during a capstone class, and have used various project management tools such as Slack, Asana and Trello. In the past, I served as a web developer for the Annenberg school and conducted research on new website designs, spherical images and potential workflow systems to adopt.

Besides development, I also have a strong interest in emerging technologies, such as augmented reality and virtual reality. Thus, I decided to take a course in virtual reality journalism, a class where I worked with a team to tell immersive stories using virtual reality GoPro rigs. You can see some of our work here. Yes, that photo is me trying out Samsung Gear VR for the first time.

Feel free to check out my GitHub to see what I’ve been up to!
